Behind the Mirror: How a Nordic-Style Mirror Is Designed

A Nordic Style mirror is more than just a functional object. It’s a design piece that exudes tranquility, simplicity, and timelessness—exactly what you’d expect from Scandinavian design. But what does it actually take to design a mirror like this? We’ll take you behind the scenes.

1. Inspiration and Trend Research

The design process for a new mirror doesn’t just happen overnight. Our design department always looks a few years ahead. We visit international interior design trade shows, follow interior design magazines, and analyze trends.
Currently, for example, we’re seeing a lot of organic shapes—soft lines, rounded silhouettes—in furniture and accessories. We translate this trend into mirrors that fit effortlessly into that aesthetic, without losing the timelessness that Nordic Style stands for.

2. Form, Function, and Choice of Materials

With every new mirror, we strive to find the perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. The shape— round, arched, hexagonal, or rectangular —is tailored to both current trends and practical applications.
In terms of materials, we work exclusively with high-quality silver mirror glass for a natural reflection, explosion-proof safety glass with a protective film, and frames made of brushed aluminum or FSC-certified wood. These materials were chosen for their durability, appearance, and luxurious finish.

3. Colors That Add Something Special

Color plays a key role in a mirror’s appearance. Our collection features black, matte white, soft gold, and the unique “greige”—a soft blend of gray and beige that complements Scandinavian interiors perfectly. This color palette is carefully tested under various lighting conditions to ensure that the mirror looks its best in any interior.

4. Prototyping and Quality Control

Once the design is finalized, we have a prototype made. Our team critically evaluates this model: Are the proportions correct? Is the finish as we envisioned it? Does the frame feel sturdy and balanced?
Only after this check does the mirror go into production. Every mirror that leaves the factory is individually inspected and undergoes a series of tests—ranging from visual inspections to drop tests of our packaging materials—to ensure safety and durability.

5. Sustainable and Thoughtful Packaging

Because a mirror is a fragile product, we also pay close attention to the packaging. Our packaging is sustainable and protects the mirror during shipping. This means less risk of damage and a smaller environmental footprint.

Conclusion:

A Nordic Style mirror is the result of creative design, careful material selection, and rigorous quality controls. From the initial sketch to the mirror hanging on your wall: every detail is carefully considered to ensure that you’re bringing home a mirror that’s not only beautiful but also durable and safe.
